Red Beans & Rice

Spice up your family's meal time with our Rice-A-Roni® Red Beans & Rice flavor! It blends tender long grain rice, red beans and bell peppers seasoned with flavorful spices to create a zesty taste. This flavorful dish is the perfect complement to your favorite Cajun recipes.

What You'll Need

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoons of margarine*

What You'll Do:

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water, margarine or butter, rice-bean mix and Special Seasonings to a boil; reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Rice will be saucy. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  • For spicier Red Beans & Rice, sprinkle with dash of Tabasco® pepper sauce

High Altitude Directions:

Increase water to 2 1/4 cups and cook time to 25 to 30 minutes.


*butter, or spread with no trans fat may be substituted
